On "Good Morning America," Aug. 30, 2002, the public was again given a big dose of "let's approve homosexuality." The media has in so many ways attempted to cover over the person who stands on the principles of Truth and attempts to teach and stand for what the Bible teaches about sodomites. It is certainly true here as on most subjects, the Bible is too clear to miss the point. If there is a veiled thought that keeps men from understanding, there might be an excuse for disobedience to God. But when it speaks of "vile passions" and those practices "against nature" and identifies them as sodomy, there is no excuse (Rom. 1:18, 22-27). Paul wrote to the Corinthians, whose city had a big problem with fornication or illicit sexual relations, "But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of his world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them" (2 Cor. 4:3-4). Today we are told we should be more "tolerant" and never suggest the end of the sodomite. Yet the Bible says clearly, that those who are without Christ, and those who deliberately and perpetually violate God's Will, have no hope (Eph. 2:12; 1 John 5:16-17). Surely Lot is a prime example of "tolerance." He is called a righteous man (2 Pet. 2:8), but evidently he had been conditioned over his long stay in Sodom to be "non-judgmental" as we are so often encouraged to be today. The Bible does say that he was "sore distressed by the lascivious of the wicked" (2 Pet. 2:7 ASV), but we notice he did not take his family and leave that homosexual playground! He certainly paid a big price for overlooking in some ways the sin about him. Remember, part of his family was destroyed in the fire and brimstone sent by God upon those cities — his wife was turned into a pillar of salt, his two daughters made him drunk, seduced him, and bore children by him who founded the idolatrous nations of Moab and Ammon. One columnist wrote in the Dallas Morning News recently about a young lesbian, whose religious policeman father and unreligious mother were divided over her "lifestyle, "The story is one that's familiar in the gay and lesbian community: one parent who can accept a child's homosexuality, and another who can't." What a modern spin! Try the following, "The story is one that is familiar in the pedophile community: One parent who can accept the molestation of children and one who can't." Or perhaps, "The story is familiar in the prison community: one parent who can accept a child's murderous lifestyle and one who can't." Think about it! |
