Where In The Bible Will I Find...
Modernism's Effect On The Bible?

Modernism actually has no effect on the Bible. Modernism is the enemy of all men because it leads men away from the revealed will of God. The Bible is inspired of God (2 Tim. 3:16-17). It has ever been protected by God (2 Pet. 1:20-21). It is promised that God's word will stand forever (Matt. 24:35). Though men may refuse to accept the Bible in this life, they do so to the destruction of their own souls because God will have the last word when He brings judgment on the ungodly and disobedient (Matt. 16:26-27; John 12:48). Some of the things upheld by the Scriptures but denied by Modernism are these:
  1. The virgin birth of Christ (Matt. 1:18-25; Luke 1:26-38).

  2. The miracles, wonders, and signs of Christ (John 20:30-31).

  3. The vicarious death of Christ (Matt. 27:35-38; Mark 15:24-28; Luke 23:33-38; John 18:19-24).

  4. The resurrection of Christ and His appearances to others for 40 days after He arose (Matt. 28; Mark 16; Luke 24; John 20-21; Acts 1).
To deny these facts is to reject the Bible. Modernism also denies and rejects Christ as being who and what He claimed to be — the Son of God. Modernism seeks to reduce Him to a mere man who was either deceived or dishonest, neither of which is true.

The Bible gives an infallible record of the essentials necessary for man to please God (Rom. 10:17; Heb. 11:6). The Bible is not a book that can be partially rejected without doing violence to its claims of inspiration. It must be either accepted or rejected as it is.

True faith cannot be based on imagination or man's reasoning. True Bible faith depends upon sufficient evidence. That evidence of the inspiration of the Bible is available to the good and honest heart (Luke 8:11-15). When proper investigation is made, the evidence will force one who has an honest mind to conclude that the Bible is the word of God and that it should be respected and obeyed.

Eye had not seen, nor ear heard the things that God had prepared for lost mankind until it was revealed in the Bible in words of God's choosing (1 Cor. 2:9-11). But, without study and acceptance that word will not save anyone (2 Tim. 2:15).
