From the Paper Edition of The Gospel Preceptor,
November 2007:
Farewell
Although I never liked to hear him say it, my Dad used to tell us boys,
"All good things must come to an end" whenever we had to leave our grandparents'
house and return home. And now, in the canyons of memory I hear his voice echoing
those sentiments as we close out our work with The Gospel Preceptor. This
issue is our last.
We began this work almost eight years ago1 and believe much
good has been done in teaching the Truth through the printed page. However, we
never seemed to get the support that we had hoped for. It was our desire that
brethern use this paper as a medium of evangelism in their communities. Some
congregations did that, but not enough. Consequently, we are forced to cease
publication. Many of you have been subscribers from the beginning and for that
we are grateful. Our very first subscriber in 2000 was Evelyn H. who lives in
California, and she remains a faithful one to this day.
It is our intent to have unfinished subscriptions be filled out with
The Fulton County Gospel News,
a fine gospel paper published monthly at Mammoth Springs, Arkansas and edited by
brother Lee Moses. Thank you to all who have faithfully supported our work with
this paper, and may God bless your labors in the cause that is greater than us all.
Jerry C. Brewer, Editor
1 — Webservant: "This final, monthly issue of the
Gospel Preceptor internet website edition at gospelpreceptor.com completes
6 years on the internet. Henceforth, you have 72 monthly issues archived for your
personal study and as an evangelism tool which is available continuously.
Future issues which may appear will not follow a regular schedule."
