Bible Riddle: September 2003

Nearing Da'mas'cus, from heaven a light
Shone round about Saul, taking his sight.
Jesus spoke his name twice, asking him why
Saul persecuted Him (he caused Christians to die).

Saul pled for instruction, what He'd have him to do,
Go into the city, 't shall be told thee what thou MUST do.
Now no being in heaven, tells man the gospel way,
That leads to salvation — t'was placed in vessels of clay.

No mourner's bench, nor praying on-through,
Ever saved any sinner, Saul prayed 3 days too!
So a Christian did tell him, the saving gospel plan,
Asking Saul to "arise and be baptized and wash away thy sins."

This Christian equated
That baptism is how,
One calls on the Lord's name...
For His cleansing power.

Surely you can say,
This brave Christian's name;
Who preached the gospel way,
To Saul when he came.
