Bible Riddle: December 2003

How careless have men
Built their sentimental mythos!
Changing truth for their pleasure
Misleading all of those...
Who a savior are wanting
With Remembrance appropriate.

That Remembrance is weekly
On its first day each time,
To remember his death
O'which the elements are a sign...
The bread represents His body
And His blood shown by the wine.

This communion He established
On the night of His betrayal,
Not His birthday — date unknown —
As men love their portrayal...
With drama and idols
And parties and ale.

Consider the record
Of wise men who came,
Two or more would have been there
Exactly three none should claim...
Nor arrived they at the manger
Matthew records where by name —
It was into the house
Where they after remained.

Now You go to the accounts
Of this miraculous birthing,
To determine the most likely
City of their dwelling...
Which clue you should look for's
From where they're first departing.
