"You Can Prove Anything By The Bible"

"You Can Prove Anything By The Bible"
True, or False? Dub Mowery contends for the negative, addressing whether the Bible actually contradicts itself, what the New Testament teaches about worship, the church, salvation, and living the Christian life. A timely study for the careful student of the Bible.

The Proper Home Life
S. F. Morrow gives a brief review of the role of parents and children in wholesome and Godly home life. Timeless advice is provided in the scriptures: "And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus" (2 Timothy 3:15).

"Teaching Them All Things"
Allen Killom expounds upon the beginning of all things: obedience to the commands of Christ. This from the One who has all power in heaven and on earth. Brother Killom tells whom it is for, and what the steps of obedience include to get into Christ — where the blessings are.

The Revolt Against God
Frank Pack: "A modern paganism has arisen to control the intellectual world, with its philosophy and moral principles destined to destroy the last vestige of faith in God and make our civilization totally atheistic and materialistic." His review shows that the only answer to this tragic impasse lies in scripture. The church must present this to the hungering world.

A Real Threat To Liberty In Christ
Only Israel enjoyed the blessings to be found in a theocracy. For these blessings only exist under the true God of the universe. Government under any other religious system is a horror to be avoided. Witness the fate those would suffer whom are overcome by political force wielded by the Catholic Church. G. K. Wallace recounts a Spanish catechism for general use...

The Conversion Of The Immoral
Ron Cosby continues this study on conversion, addressing a ninth category of sinner. Self-deception is admonished, to those who are living lives like the immoral of Corinth. The list is even more appalling upon closer inspection. Brother Cosby gives a proper survey of the categories who are at dire risk. An yet, there is much hope! For many of those who were saved were once counted among the immoral of that evil city of antiquity. Read on, and seek your redemption if you long to escape the grip of habitual sins of immorality.

Do You Know What "Sing" Means?
Many who profess to be members of the Lord's body — the church — are grappeling with the type of music commanded by the scripture for that body. Those who wish to point out that mechanical instruments are NOT excluded, overlook the facts: 1) "Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17)." 2) "By faith Able offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous," (Hebrews 11:4). "And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering: But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect" (Genesis 4:4-5a). This shows that Cain did not worship in faith: that is, by the word of the LORD. Such are they who worship with the mechanical instrument: it cannot be used in faith, by the word of the LORD. Robin W. Haley simply asks for your definition of what the LORD commands by the word.

The Conversion Of The World
"And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen." (Matthew 28:18-20). Jesus, who has all power in every realm right now, commands Christians to teach and baptize and keep teaching those who are baptized. He commands the going, and He commands the teaching; He does not command the results, as He Himself will give the increase. P. D. Wilmeth provides some of the reasons why, from scripture.

Galatians 4:6-7 Does Not Teach Holy Spirit Indwelling
Jerry C. Brewer shows how we must consider the context for a correct understanding and interpretation of scripture. The subject verses do not render the conclusion of the direct indwelling of the Holy Spirit in the Christian's body. This process is shown, for those who desire to try every spirit gone out into the world...(1 John 4:1)
