The "Sinner's Prayer"

The "Sinner's Prayer"
Have you prayed the "sinner's prayer" and trusted your soul's eternal state upon this teaching? We can only encourage you with the utmost gravity and urgency that you should find where this is taught in scripture, or else learn what is taught by the Word of God to gain salvation and an eternal home of bliss in heaven. Gary Colley in four paragraphs will show you the contrast between the gospel and the error that is taught as the "sinner's prayer." Right now, take a few minutes to check out your faith in the Bible!

The Blind And Hardened Heart
Marvin L. Weir reminds us of Jesus' teaching on the right way to hear and learn the gospel truths found in His word. He takes us again to the parable of the sower of that seed, and examines the types of soil into which it is cast. Today's societal ills prevent many from gaining a saving knowledge of the truth that saves. Extensive in scope, this study can provide many hours of reflection, itself seed for many sermons: recommended!

Restoration Of New Testament Christianity In England Preceded That In America
A history of the tribulations of the church of our Lord in England are collected by brother Keith Sisman, who preaches the gospel in Ramsey, England. A link is provided for even further information on this topic of spiritual and historic importance. Let all brethern pray for the free expansion of the Lord's kingdom in England!

The King Of King's Triumphant Rise
The world's one and greatest king, who arose from the grave to reign til the end of time, will turn over His kingdom to the Father. C. D. Plum gives the account of the coming of the man who is king of kings: His birth, His herald, His disciples, His death, His rising, His ascension and coronation, to His current reign. "Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet" (1 Corinthians 15:24-25).

Does "Judge Not" Mean "Never Judge?"
Josh Haley seeks understanding of the complete picture of the passages relating to this much misused and misunderstood subject. This study is an important part of each Christian's life of service and devotion to the Lord and His Word. Give this fine study your time, for the review of scriptures which brother Josh presents for your consideration.

Denominations Aren't "Branches Of The Church"
The vine and the branches is one parable of Jesus, helping us to understand the Christian's relationship to Christ. Jerry C. Brewer brings the Lord's statements in their clarity to the attention of those who suppose that the branches are "churches" or denominations — which they are not! The simplicity of Christ's words do not require much time to arrive at their true meaning. High potency, for the power is in the Word!

The Conversion Of A Harsh Inquisitor
Saul meant to destroy the church, but the Lord meant for Saul to build it up. The power of God unto salvation is that gospel which saved even Saul, chief of sinners, to become Paul the gospel preacher. Ron Cosby tells another grand old story from the scriptures of the one whose harsh judgements inflicted pain and death upon the faithful. Here is hope for every sinner, and that means every one! If God will save the greatest sinner, he will save even me and even you! Are you saved? Why do you wait? Now is the accepted time, now is the day of salvation.

The First Gospel Sermon
Are you saved? Were you baptized? E. M. Borden quickly relives that first gospel sermon, and what was commanded to those who were saved. Ananias explained to Saul what baptism was for: "And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord" (Acts 22:16). Have you gladly received the Word?

Bible Riddle: "...that "Sinner's Prayer way..."
"What Must I Do To Be Saved?"
When you ask for the directions to a location, those directions will depend on where you are, in order for you to get there. So too is the reply to the request for directions to salvation: where are you on that spiritual journey? Foy E. Wallace, Jr. gives a short set of examples from the Bible, based on the heart's location spiritually.

"All They Ever Preach Is Baptism"
Some may have summed up their impression of the church of Christ, that 'baptism is all they ever preach.' Yet a person having visited a service would have a direct demonstration of the fact or fallacy of that summation. Charles L. Houser, Jr. encourages you to attend and learn directly for yourself, and gives a brief review of what you should expect to hear: baptism and the many other important commands Christ has given the church to obey.

"Sitteth In The Temple Of God"
Read Glenn L. Wallace's lucid resolution of who "sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God" (2 Thessalonians 2:4).
